Privacy Policy

How Foreverme.io collects, uses and protects your personal data.

Last updated: 2 August 2026

1. Who we are

Foreverme.io is a digital legacy service based in the United Kingdom. We are the "controller" of your personal data for the purposes of UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

To ask about your data, email hello@foreverme.io. We aim to respond within one month.

2. What we collect

To run your account: your name, email address, and role. To build your vault: the memories, answers, photos, voice audio and avatar details you give us, and the family members you invite.

To operate and improve the service: limited technical data such as device type, browser, and how you use the app. Payments are handled by Revolut — we do not receive your full card details.

3. How we use your data

We use your data to provide the service: to build and preserve your avatar, store your vault, back it up off-site, and hand it to the family members you nominate. We use it to communicate with you about your account, to keep the service secure, and — where required — to meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your stories or voice to train models for anyone outside the service.

4. Lawful basis

We rely on your consent for voice cloning, AI-generated content, and any optional marketing. We rely on contract to run your account and vault, on our legitimate interests for security and service improvement, and on legal obligation where the law requires us to keep records. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting past processing.

5. Sharing your data

We share your vault only with the family members you nominate, on the access settings you choose. We use trusted processors — including cloud storage, backup providers (off-site cold storage), AI model providers, email delivery, and our payment provider Revolut — each bound by contract to protect your data and use it only as we instruct.

We may share data with UK authorities where the law requires it.

6. International transfers

Some processors may be outside the UK. Where that happens, we use safeguards such as UK International Data Transfer Agreements or providers already offering UK-adequate protection, so your data is kept to UK standards.

7. How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is open. Unpreserved content may be deleted shortly after account closure. Preserved vaults are kept long-term under the handover settings you chose, and backed up to cold storage so they survive for generations.

When you ask us to delete content we have not preserved, we will do so within a reasonable period.

8. Your rights under UK law

You have the right to access your data, correct it, erase it, restrict or object to its use, port it to another provider, and withdraw consent where we relied on it. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you are concerned about how we handle it.

To use any of these rights, email hello@foreverme.io. We may ask you to confirm your identity.

9. Children

The service is not aimed at children under 16. If you believe a child has given us data without consent, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and off-site encrypted backups. No service is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your vault and tell you promptly if a breach affects you in a way the law requires.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the law or the service changes. We will tell you about material changes in-app or by email before they take effect.
